Sam Cha is an MFA candidate at UMass Boston. His poems, prose, and translations have appeared in anderbo, apt, Radius, Opium Online, decomP, and ASIA. He was the 2011 and 2012 recipient of the Academy of American Poets Prize at UMass Boston. He lives in Cambridge, MA.

Amanda Cook lives in Gloucester with her husband, James, children Abigail and Samuel, and cat, Gata. She fills her house and writing with bits of fabric, yarn, greens from the garden, fiddles, a spinning wheel and good whiskey. Her book, Ironstone Whirlygig, is forthcoming from Pressed Wafer.

Joseph Torra: Poet, novelist, editor (lift magazine, Pressed Wafer, Selected Poems of Stephen Jonas). Author of many novels and books of poetry. (My Ground Trilogy, They Say, Call Me Waiter, The Bystander's Scrapbook, Keep Watching the Sky, After the Chinese among others). Newest poetry title is Time Being from Quale Press. In summer of 2012 PFP Publishing will reissue My Ground Trilogy under one cover.

Adam Clay is the author of A Hotel Lobby at the Edge of the World (Milkweed Editions, 2012) and The Wash (Parlor Press, 2006). His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Boston Review, Ploughshares, Denver Quarterly, Iowa Review, New Orleans Review, and elsewhere. He co-edits TYPO Magazine and lives in Kentucky. Ada Limón grew up in Glen Ellen and Sonoma, California. A graduate of New York University’s MFA Creative Writing Program, she has received fellowships from the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and won the Chicago Literary Award for Poetry. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harvard Review, and Poetry Daily. She is the author of three books of poetry, Lucky Wreck (Autumn House Press, 2006), This Big Fake World (Pearl Editions, 2007), and Sharks in the Rivers (Milkweed Editions, 2010). Michael Robins is the author of Ladies & Gentlemen (Saturnalia Books, 2011), the chapbook Circus (Flying Guillotine Press, 2009), and The Next Settlement (UNT Press, 2007), which received the Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry. His recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in American Letters & Commentary, The Antioch Review, Colorado Review, The Laurel Review, Mid-American Review and elsewhere. His short essays and book reviews have appeared in journals such as MAKE, Poets for Living Waters, Redactions, and in the anthology The Field Guide to Prose Poetry (Rose Metal Press, 2010). James Cook's work has appeared in Process, Polis, Eoagh, the Sunday Morning Anthology, and elsewhere. Openmouth Press published a chapbook of his poems called Some Arguments, and Boston's Pressed Wafer Press published a fold-out called from Arguments and Letters. James lives in Gloucester with his wife, Amanda, and two Children, Samuel and Abigail, and is a teacher at Gloucester High School.

Kythe Heller is a poet and multi-media performing artist currently based in Cambridge, MA. Her book Immolation (Monk Honey, 2008) was a finalist for the Walt McDonald First Book Prize in Poetry from Texas Tech UP. Currently she teaches in the Language and Thinking Program at Bard College while also pursuing an MDiv degree at Harvard University.

Luke Daly lives in Chicago. His books include AV / AV (in collaboration with Eric Unger), VATS, 1-51, The Vandalism Questions, and Of a Free Town (with Barrett Gordon). He is co-editor of the arrow as aarow chapbook series.

Poet and filmmaker Ish Klein grew up in Long Island and was educated at Columbia University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Klein’s poetry collections include Moving Day (2011) and Union! (2009). She lives in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Gerrit Lansing was born in Albany, New York, in 1928, and grew up in Northern Ohio. Educated at Harvard and Columbia Universities, he has taught at Bard College. He lives in Gloucester, Massachusetts and has a cat named Hector. His most recent volume of poetry is Heavenly Tree, Northern Earth from North Atlantic Books.

Carol Weston's history as a poet is linked to such figures as Jack Powers, John Wieners, Robert Lowell, Allen Ginsberg, and Carl Solomon. She was poetry editor of the Impressions Workshop. She is the author of "What the Poet Expects of Himself," an essay published in the Tufts Review. Married to John Galloway, science teacher at Endicott College, she taught for ten years at the Chesnut Hill School. Her poetry credits include The Farleigh Literary Review, Bomb, Stone Soup Anthology 2003, and the anthology dedicated to John Wieners, The Blind See Only This World. Her chapbook, Spirals, Whorls Sutures, Septa, was published by Stone Soup.

Allen Fisher is a poet, painter, publisher and art historian, lives in Hereford, UK. Emeritus Professor of Poetry & Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and Visiting Professor at the University of Northumbria; over 140 single-authored publications of poetry, graphics and art documentation; exhibited in many shows from Fluxus Britannica Tate Britain to Lifting from fear King’s Gallery York. His last eight books were Proposals: poem-image-commentary; Birds; Leans; Confidence in lack, essays; Singularity Stereo, Place; Entanglement; and Gravity.

Ruth Lepson is poet-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. In recent years she has been collaborating with musicians and is now a member of Box Lunch, a jazz/poetry group. Her books are I Went Looking for You (blazeVOX.org), Morphology (prose poems and photographs with artist Rusty Crump, also from blazeVOX.org), and Dreaming In Color (Alice James Books). She edited Poetry from Sojourner: A Feminist Anthology (Univ. of Illinois).

Chuck Stebelton's recent chapbooks include A Maximal Object (Mitzvah Press), Flags and Banners (Bronze Skull Press), and Precious (Answer Tag Home Press). Next up in the Unaffiliated Reading series, we are presenting an event featuring William Corbett & Patrick James Dunagan, who will be discussing & reading pieces inspired by the artist Philip Guston, as well as reading other work of their own.

William Corbett is a poet who lives in Boston’s South End and teaches writing at MIT. He writes frequently on art, directs the small press Pressed Wafer and is on the advisory board of Manhattan’s CUE Art Foundation. Among his books are the memoirs Furthering My Education and Philip Guston’s Late Work: A Memoir. He edited Just the Thing: Selected Letters of James Schuyler and The Letters of James Schuyler to Frank O’Hara. His most recent book of poetry is The Whalen Poem.

Patrick James Dunagan lives in San Francisco. His first book, “There are people who think painters shouldn’t talk”: A GUSTONBOOK (Post-Apollo, 2011), is a workman’s notebook of sorts sketched out in response to years spent contemplating the work and life of Philip Guston.

Catherine Meng is the author of the poetry collection Tonight’s the Night (Apostrophe Books) and three chapbooks, 15 Poems in Sets of 5 (Anchorite Press), Dokument (Petrichord Press), and Lost Notebook w/ Letters to Deer (Dusie Kollectiv). She currently resides in Berkeley and works at a restaurant. Along with Lauren Levin and Jared Stanley she co-edits the poetry journal Mrs. Maybe.

Joel Sloman was born in Brooklyn in 1943 and grew up there. In 1966, he became the assistant director of The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church In-the-Bowery, under its then director, Joel Oppenheimer, and edited its journal, The World. He is the author of Virgil’s Machines, Bus Poems, Stops, and Cuban Journal. His most recent publication is a chapbook, Off the Beaten Trakl.

Mary Austin Speaker is a poet, essayist, book designer and co-curator and founder of Triptych Readings poetry series in New York City. Her work has received awards from Iowa Review, Diner, Seattle Review and the Academy of American Poets. She lives in Brooklyn, where she works as art director for Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

Chris Martin is the author of Becoming Weather (Coffee House 2011) and American Music (Copper Canyon 2007). A chapbook/guidebook of new poems called How to Write a Mistake-ist Poem is also just out from Brave Men Press. He is an editor at Futurepoem and curates the response blog Futurepost. Damon Krukowski writes and teaches poetry as well music criticism. He is the author of a book of prose poems, The Memory Theatre Burned (Turtle Point Press). Along with Naomi Yang he runs Exact Change, a publishing house specializing in Surrealist and other experimental literature and artists' writings, and is one half of the influential avant-folk duo, Damon and Naomi.

Jeremy Sigler received an MFA in sculpture from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has published five books: To and To (Left Hand Books, 1998), Mallet Eyes (Left Hand Books, 2000), Led Almost by My Tie (with Jessica Stockholder, Ruth Lingen Editions, 2007), Math (Ubuweb Editions, 2008), and Crackpot Poet (Black Square Editions/Brooklyn Rail, 2010). Sigler is also the publisher of a 2-page, malleable clay journal called Rational/Irrational currently installed in the bookstore café at MoMA/PS1. While teaching at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Sigler formed the band Ponytail and directed his own stage adaptation of Jerzy Kozinski's "Being There." In 2006, Sigler was a recipient of a Lannan Foundation residency in Marfa, Texas. He is the Associate Editor of Parkett Publishers, teaches in the graduate art departments of Yale University, SUNY Purchase, and The Maryland Institute College of Art, and is the creator of the Theater of Therapeutic Choreography

Crystal Curry was born in Greenville, Ill. in 1974. Her work has appeared both off and online in journals such as VERSE, Denver Quarterly, Conduit, Open City, Octopus Magazine and Action, Yes. Curry received her B.A. in journalism and political science from Illinois State University and her M.F.A. in poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where she was a postgraduate fellow. Curry is the author of Our Chrome Arms of Gymnasium (Slope Editions, forthcoming) and the chapbook Logotherapy Pant (Cosa Nostra Editions, 2008). About the authors:

Julie Doxsee lives and writes in Istanbul on the European shores of the Bosphorus, where since 2007 she has been teaching creative writing and literature courses at a private university near the Black Sea. She is the author of Objects for a Fog Death (Black Ocean 2010) and Undersleep (Octopus Books 2008), as well as several chapbooks.

Sarah Goldstein was born in Toronto and lives in western Massachusetts. Her poetry has appeared in various journals, and is forthcoming in Caketrain, Bateau, and Denver Quarterly. Her first book, Fables, will be published by Tarpaulin Sky Press next spring.

Janaka Stucky is practicing the perfection of effort while working on silent relationships with knives, pugilism, and a history of tentacles. He is also the Publisher of Black Ocean and its literary magazine, Handsome, and was recently voted “Boston’s Best Poet” for 2010 in the Boston Phoenix. He likes his whiskey neat and his music dirty.

Brian Foley is the author of The Black Eye. He edits SIR! Magazine, curates The Deep Moat Reading Series and with EB Goodale runs Brave Men Press. He lives in Northampton and attends UMass Amherst program for Poets & Writers.

Amina Cain is the author of I Go To Some Hollow (Les Figues Press, 2009), a collection of stories that revolve quietly around human relationality, landscape, and emptiness, and a chapbook entitled Tramps Everywhere (Blanc Press, forthcoming). She is also a curator (most recently for When Does It or You Begin? Memory as Innovation, a month long festival of writing, performance, and video) and a current Visiting Lecturer at the University of California, San Diego, where she teaches creative writing/fiction. Her work has appeared in publications such as 3rd bed, Action Yes, Denver Quarterly, Dewclaw, La Petite Zine, onedit, Sidebrow, and Wreckage of Reason: Xxperimental Prose by Women Writers, and has been translated into Polish on MINIMALBOOKS. Jennifer Karmin’s text-sound epic, Aaaaaaaaaaalice, was published by Flim Forum Press in 2010. She curates the Red Rover Series and is co-founder of the public art group Anti Gravity Surprise. Her multidisciplinary projects have been presented at festivals, artist-run spaces, community centers, and on city streets across the U.S., Japan, and Kenya. A proud member of the Dusie Kollektiv, she is the author of the Dusie chapbook Evacuated: Disembodying Katrina. Walking Poem, a collaborative street project, is featured online at How2. At home in Chicago, Jennifer teaches creative writing to immigrants at Truman College and works as a Poet-in-Residence for the public schools.

JULIE CARR is the author of four books of poetry: Mead: An Epithalanion, Equivocal, 100 Notes on Violence (winner of the Sawtooth Poetry Prize), and Sarah-of Fragments and Lines, forthcoming from Coffee House Press. She is the co-publisher, with Tim Roberts, of Counterpath Press, teaches at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and lives in Denver.

ELIZABETH MARIE YOUNG teaches Classics and Comparative Literature at Wellesley College. She was a finalist for the 2007 National Poetry Series award and her first book of poems, Aim Straight at the Fountain and Press Vaporize, won the Motherwell prize from Fence books. A chapbook of dissolute sonnets is also available from Omahrahu Press.

JESSICA BOZEK is the author of The Bodyfeel Lexicon (Switchback Books) and several chapbooks, including the recent Other People's Emergencies (Hive/Dusie). Recent poems appear in Action, Yes, Artifice, Fairy Tale Review, P-QUEUE, and Womb. Jessica runs Small Animal Project (smallanimalproject.com), a reading series and web-text experiment based in Cambridge, MA.
